Young Life Australia has announced a new collaboration in 2017 with online ministry course provider, The Timothy Partnership.
CEO Glyn Henman says Young Life’s residential training and leadership program, known as Abide, would see participants complete the Academic Studies in Theology Certificate or units toward a Diploma in Ministry from the Australian College of Theology through The Timothy Partnership.
Abide is a 12-month residential program located at Young Life’s College in Armidale NSW. It combines practical experience of school and community-based outreach programs with a supportive framework for pursuing online study.
Program Director Brendan Hatte says, “The Timothy Partnership has the vision to make learning available to anyone, anywhere. It is a great fit for the Abide program which is designed to prepare young men and women as Christians, to make a difference in their own communities.”
“Some of our trainees have a full-time mission mindset, while others plan to continue on as committed volunteers, combining roles as employees, students or parents with a willingness to share their time with young people who are seeking examples of what the Christian life is all about.”
“A year in the Abide program pursuing studies through The Timothy Partnership is designed to inspire and prepare trainees for whatever path they choose.”
Young Life Australia is a non-denominational organisation running programs for youth across Australia. Established in 1972, Young Life aims to connect with young people outside the church: to be accessible and involved in community life.
