Volunteers in Schools
Young Life’s mandate is to connect with young people in their world, taking the first step to be in their daily environment and help meet their needs. Volunteering in schools is the most natural, necessary way to come alongside young people and serve the school’s community.
Our network of adult volunteers spend time in schools to come alongside teachers and students in a variety of ways, including:
- Assisting welfare programs
- School camp supervision
- Academic tutoring
- Coaching sport teams
Services we can provide include:
- Mentor programs
- Life skills education
- Pancake breakfasts
- Lunchtime activities
- Scripture teaching
“Today, young people need to feel connected and have a sense of belonging. It is crucial that there is a pair of ears to listen and give gentle advice. There can never be too much support for young people; mentoring is proven to be a key to make life changing significance.”
– Denise Lofts, Former Principal
Marsden High School, NSW
Our volunteers are men and women from your community who demonstrate integrity, commitment to the Young Life vision, and the ability to connect with young people.
Many of them were impacted by Young Life as a teenager, and are now committed to building up the next generation.
All of our volunteers are carefully screened and trained by our organisation, and comply with the Working With Children Check.
